Some New Journal Entries

I love gardening!

Life goes by. It could be me sitting there. I used to have hair that long and I braided it just the same way. This place looks so peaceful.

A silly picture.

ABC 1" squares

1" ABC Squares. These were fun to make. I cut them out of various magazines. The letters X & Z were the hardest to find.

New Header

I've finally figured out how to make a header. What do you think? Are the extra letters needed? Would just one of each letter be better? I think I'll make one with just one letter on each square. Anyway squares are FUN!

Going Outside my Comfort Zone!

I thought I would go outside my comfort zone and share some of my pages from a Christian journal I've been working on. I've haven't worked in it for several weeks but God has moved me today that I need to be in contact more with Him and this is an easy way for me to do that. I'm not good at just reading my Bible. I need interaction to memorize verses and bring the meaning of the words to my heart. I hope these pages inspire you to maybe pick up your Bible and express yourself to God through jounaling. Any book or journal will do. And mistakes don't matter! In fact I think God likes mistakes because that means we are learning and trying!

Cover of my Christian Journal. This is from a Christmas card my Mother-in-Law sent to us several years ago. I painted the cover and then glued the card front to the front of the book. I don't think it needs any embellishment.

He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to his heart. He gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11

This is the Day the Lord Hath Made!

"The greatest accomplishment of all time was what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary. Christ's death paid the penalty for our sins..."

I lift Your name on High!

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know - Jeremiah 33:3

New junk journal page

The challange for my Junk Journal Flickr group was to use 3 images from a selection of images. Here is mine:

The three images I used were the photo of the little girl, the butterfly, & the dialog box with the blue stripes at the bottom of the page.

What do you think? I was making some other items at the same time as this and those ideas kind of ended up on this page also. I was working on some items with the "vintage school" theme.

Some new art! Just a quick collage with no real meaning. Just a few things I liked. Made from paper, an old dictonary page, an old envelope, a picture from new & old magazines.

My first 1" squares

I've enjoyed visiting Lia's 1" square site and decided I would try my hand at making a few and here they are. What do you think? Take a trip to Lia's two sites listed at the right and see what she has done. You'll like what you see. She is very inspiring! Thanks Lia! Ann

New Collages

Here are two new collages I did over the weekend. The images are all from 3 Southern Living Magazines background included. Ann

I liked this picture of the beach. I'm not much of a beach person but it made me feel warm and cozy. Then I thought what if it rained at the beach? Maybe it would rain flowers! The little girl running made me think of my own daughters. Sara loves the beach!

This collage is titled Pretty Angels. I liked the idea of cutting out the windows and putting my own background. Then I found the pictures of the little girl and the dogs and felt they all need a place to stay. Can you find the little faries?

Some more Garden Journal Pages!

Here are a few more pages.

This rose was in my neighbor Helen's front yard. She was the best neighbor anyone could wish for. We lived beside her for 20 years. She is gone now but is fondly remembered through her flowers. I took this picture at 9am one morning on my way to work.

I took this picture at 5:30 pm on the same day. Beautiful!

This field of sunflowers is located in Washington County Maryland.

This photo is of my backyard in June of 2006. I love this paper that I used for the background and the letters.

The backyard in September of 2006. The same paper and letters were used.

My Garden Journal!

Here are a few pages from My Garden Journal I started last summer. I've been trying to finish it so I can move on to some new projects.

This first picture is the cover of my garden journal. I found this journal at our local Olie's discount store and knew I had to have it. Nothing needed done to the cover. It was perfect just as it was! I love this verse from the Bible.

My first page in the journal.

These morning glory flowers are so beautiful. They grow on the fence between our neighbors house and make the yard lovely.

The verses and poems on the pages came from a book just for this purpose. It is filled with borders and sayings to use in scrapbooks and journals.

I'm feeling much better!

I'm feeling much better! It's been a long week. I missed one full day of work and 2 half days. It's always nice to think about a day at home during the week but not when you are too sick to get out of bed. Luckly so far Paul & Lori haven't come down with anything. knock on wood. Thanks for all the nice well wishes! Ann

My latest collage!

Here is my latest piece of art. I was working on this before I became sick and didn't have a chance to post it. The verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Love is patient, Love is kind. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perserveres.

The picture below is a larger picture of the one in the frame on the collage. This is Paul & me around 1988 in Harper's Ferry, WV.

The Holy Wedlock image was the inspiration for this piece. I found the image on a very neat site, Bailey's Bliss. Her link is on the sidebar to the left. She has other images for sharing. You'll enjoy visiting her site. The forget me not flowers in the background are also from her site. Thanks for sharing these neat images Stacie!

One of my Valentine gifts

This collage was one of my Valentine day gifts from Paul. He knows how I love collages so he made me one. The words are a song by George Strait titled "It Just Comes Natural". Thank you Paul so much. I Love You!

It Just Comes Natural
George Strait

Sun shines, clouds, rain
Train whistles blow and guitars play
Preachers preach, framers plow
Wishes go up and the world goes round.

And I love you, it just come natural
It just comes natural
Seasons change rivers, wind
Tumble weeds roll and the stars shine
Wind howls, dawn breaks
Cowboys riding', time slips away.

And I love you, it just come natural
It's what I was born to do
Don't have to think it through
Baby, it's so easy loving you
It just come natural.

It's what I was born to do
Don't have to think it through
Baby, it's so easy loving you.

Fire burns, waves crash
Seeds grow and good things last
Ships sail, dreams fly
Night falls and full moons rise.

And I love you, it just come natural
And I love you, it just come natural
It just come natural
It just come natural...

I figured it was time I should add some more art to this site if it is going to be a site about "art". So here is piece I did for my first journal. It was the introductory page for what I wanted to express in the journal. I love the lace paper.
