New Journal entries!

I enjoyed working in my journal. I love the freedom just to put things on paper and see what it turns out to be!

What have you ever wanted to do? I'm NOT doing the hempe ink!

Sense of Choice. I found this poem in one of the children's books and liked it a whole lot!

Don't you just love a warm bath in the cold of winter? I do!

Just a silly piece. I thought the cow needed it's picture taken and she looked up for it!

A Few New ATC!

I was inspired over the weekend and did some ATC. They are all done with images from old books I've collected over the past several years. The books are falling apart (those are the ones I look for) so I don't really have to take the pages out becuase they are already falling out. I figure I'm giving them NEW life!

This photo was black and white and I wanted to give it a little bit of color. Not sure if it helps or not. Suggestions?

I loved this picture of the Queen of the Fairies. It was black and white like the cat and dog above and I gave it some color. I feel it needs something else but I don't know what yet. Any ideas?

New Journal entries

Here are three new journal entries I've done over the last couple of days.

This is just done with things I've had in my miscellanious folder. The Mary Jane wrapper is from my swap with Mel.

Remember the old days!

Take a holiday at the shore. I've never been to the ocean. I guess I should go someday. This does look relaxing. The page is an ad from a magazine with my own words added.

I bought all this for 25 cents

Paul and I took a drive a couple of Saturdays ago and we stopped at a library in a small town near so Paul could do some research. At the library they of course had some books for sale and several other items. I bought the bag below for 25 cents. It had lots of great Ephemera in it for using in my collages. And at 25 cents what a great buy! You can see the pictures from our drive here.

Some neat things I've received in the mail!

Tracy at Seaside Enchantment had a contest several months ago and I won! I wanted to post the prize I received and thank her for it again! Thanks Tracy.

Tracy knows I love paper crafts and scrapbooking and the prize she picked for me was just right. I've been using the the paper and other items in my ATC and scrapbook pages. Here are three ATC I made using the paper from the packet as the background.

I did a swap of ephemera with Mel a friend from Flickr. She does great ATC. She commented on my 40's style ATC and I sent her some of the magazines where I get my images and she sent me all of this:

Among the things she sent were two booklets. One was a vacation book from 1941. I told her I loved 40's vintage items and I would include it with my collection. Here it is on the shelf in my kitchen. . I like to put up different displays through out the year. This summer I had my collection of vintage items on display. Now it's time for a fall display.

The other booklet was about cheese. I thought it went nicely with this little dairy box.

Thanks to you both! Now to get around to some more ATC using these neat things!

Journal Cover

I just finished the cover to my journal. I like how it turned out. I like the image of the girl. I think she is just lovely. The flapper girl I found in an old magazine along with the pictures of the magazine Journal covers.

Squares from envelopes!

I remember reading on another art blog about using the inside of envelopes in your art. Well, I've finally tried it. Here is a before picture. I've taken several envlopes and torn them open. I then glued them on a piece of paper for extra strength and then I used my square cutter to cut out 1" squares. I'll post a picture of the after over the weekend. There are many possible uses for the envelopes. They could also be used as a background for collage or ATC. If you try this out let me know. I'd love to see what you do with your envelopes.

Swaps, Swaps, & Swaps

I thought I would like swapping and I was right. Over the last month I've done two ATC swaps and a 1" square swap. Here they are:

Here is the 1" square swap. Isn't it lovely? Thanks to Grace & Becky for organizing the swap.

I also did an ATC swap with Beth. It was her first swap and my first ATC swap.

Here is her ATC. I love it. It is so charming. Thanks Beth. Let's do it again. I'm ready to start working on some new ones for you!

And here is mine. I hope you liked it Beth.

My friend Maggie Ann and I also decided to do an ATC swap. Here are her ATC. Aren't they lovely. Thank you Maggie Ann. Each has a bible verse on the back.

Here are the ATC I swapped with Maggie Ann. I hope she liked them.

Some NEW 1" squares and ATC

In between packing for our vacation I managed to finish up 2 swaps, make a few extra ATC, and some 1" squares.
