More Pages!

I've been so busy with work and then a cold I just haven't had time to get into my craft room. Well I did tonight! I had started these two pages a month ago and forgot about them. I finished them up tonight.

I love this image of the little girl and her mother. I guess it is her mother. They look like they are. Did they have a happy life? I hope so. The words at the bottom "Tomorrow's hits today!" is from an old 78 record sleeve. I felt something else needed to be added along the edges but I just couldn't find the right image. So I just left it finished as is.

I wanted to do something fun with this piece. I've been enjoying reading Shani's blog. She has some fun pieces here and here. So I wanted to do the same. All the images are from an old 1950's magazine. I love those!

A new journal page that's something like an old ATC

This is a new page in my smaller journal. My Dark Desert Maid.

I've received lots of nice comments on my Flickr account about this page.

Here is a similar image to the one above that I used on an ATC. I guess I got them from the same old magazine.

I like how they turned out.

Some new entries in my journal.

Classic page. Painted background with just bits and pieces added. I didn't put a lot of thought into the page. I just did it and I liked how it turned out.

The facing page to the one above with the same painted background but different elements added.

Words journal page.

Winter Wonderland. The picture is an ad from a magazine. The picture reminded me of our 20th annivesary trip to a cabin during the winter of 1999.

The Light in the Window.

Longing for warmer weather.

My first attempt at writing. I found this page in an old book and thought it needed my own story.

New Journal entries!

I enjoyed working in my journal. I love the freedom just to put things on paper and see what it turns out to be!

What have you ever wanted to do? I'm NOT doing the hempe ink!

Sense of Choice. I found this poem in one of the children's books and liked it a whole lot!

Don't you just love a warm bath in the cold of winter? I do!

Just a silly piece. I thought the cow needed it's picture taken and she looked up for it!

New Journal entries

Here are three new journal entries I've done over the last couple of days.

This is just done with things I've had in my miscellanious folder. The Mary Jane wrapper is from my swap with Mel.

Remember the old days!

Take a holiday at the shore. I've never been to the ocean. I guess I should go someday. This does look relaxing. The page is an ad from a magazine with my own words added.

Journal Cover

I just finished the cover to my journal. I like how it turned out. I like the image of the girl. I think she is just lovely. The flapper girl I found in an old magazine along with the pictures of the magazine Journal covers.

A collage about my Dad

My Dad passed away 16 years ago today and I've been thinking about him all day. Not sad thoughts but happy thoughts. I did a post to him on my other blog here and I did this collage also. I wanted to put into words everything he was. I'm sure there are more words but for now these are my Dad.

Finally a few minutes to Collage!

I finally found a few minutes to sneak away to my craft room and work on something. Anything! Here is what I came up with. Just a quick piece. I had already glued some backgrounds down. I like to take a page from a magazine that has pretty colors and such and glue items down to change it make it something new and different. This time I had cut the ivy border from a magazine. Everything else are fun things. "Oh Ethel" is the title. I guess her little friend, the pretty little elephant, gave her the flowers. Now maybe they will have a cup of tea.

Some New Journal Entries

I love gardening!

Life goes by. It could be me sitting there. I used to have hair that long and I braided it just the same way. This place looks so peaceful.

A silly picture.

Going Outside my Comfort Zone!

I thought I would go outside my comfort zone and share some of my pages from a Christian journal I've been working on. I've haven't worked in it for several weeks but God has moved me today that I need to be in contact more with Him and this is an easy way for me to do that. I'm not good at just reading my Bible. I need interaction to memorize verses and bring the meaning of the words to my heart. I hope these pages inspire you to maybe pick up your Bible and express yourself to God through jounaling. Any book or journal will do. And mistakes don't matter! In fact I think God likes mistakes because that means we are learning and trying!

Cover of my Christian Journal. This is from a Christmas card my Mother-in-Law sent to us several years ago. I painted the cover and then glued the card front to the front of the book. I don't think it needs any embellishment.

He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to his heart. He gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11

This is the Day the Lord Hath Made!

"The greatest accomplishment of all time was what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary. Christ's death paid the penalty for our sins..."

New junk journal page

The challange for my Junk Journal Flickr group was to use 3 images from a selection of images. Here is mine:

The three images I used were the photo of the little girl, the butterfly, & the dialog box with the blue stripes at the bottom of the page.

What do you think? I was making some other items at the same time as this and those ideas kind of ended up on this page also. I was working on some items with the "vintage school" theme.

Some more Garden Journal Pages!

Here are a few more pages.

This rose was in my neighbor Helen's front yard. She was the best neighbor anyone could wish for. We lived beside her for 20 years. She is gone now but is fondly remembered through her flowers. I took this picture at 9am one morning on my way to work.

I took this picture at 5:30 pm on the same day. Beautiful!

This field of sunflowers is located in Washington County Maryland.

This photo is of my backyard in June of 2006. I love this paper that I used for the background and the letters.

The backyard in September of 2006. The same paper and letters were used.
