A collage about my Dad

My Dad passed away 16 years ago today and I've been thinking about him all day. Not sad thoughts but happy thoughts. I did a post to him on my other blog here and I did this collage also. I wanted to put into words everything he was. I'm sure there are more words but for now these are my Dad.

A few things......

A few things that caught my "eye" while looking through a magazine. The buttons make me think of my grandma, I want to try to paint soon, I like the jar with the shells, Spring......

Finally a few minutes to Collage!

I finally found a few minutes to sneak away to my craft room and work on something. Anything! Here is what I came up with. Just a quick piece. I had already glued some backgrounds down. I like to take a page from a magazine that has pretty colors and such and glue items down to change it make it something new and different. This time I had cut the ivy border from a magazine. Everything else are fun things. "Oh Ethel" is the title. I guess her little friend, the pretty little elephant, gave her the flowers. Now maybe they will have a cup of tea.

Some New Journal Entries

I love gardening!

Life goes by. It could be me sitting there. I used to have hair that long and I braided it just the same way. This place looks so peaceful.

A silly picture.

Going Outside my Comfort Zone!

I thought I would go outside my comfort zone and share some of my pages from a Christian journal I've been working on. I've haven't worked in it for several weeks but God has moved me today that I need to be in contact more with Him and this is an easy way for me to do that. I'm not good at just reading my Bible. I need interaction to memorize verses and bring the meaning of the words to my heart. I hope these pages inspire you to maybe pick up your Bible and express yourself to God through jounaling. Any book or journal will do. And mistakes don't matter! In fact I think God likes mistakes because that means we are learning and trying!

Cover of my Christian Journal. This is from a Christmas card my Mother-in-Law sent to us several years ago. I painted the cover and then glued the card front to the front of the book. I don't think it needs any embellishment.

He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to his heart. He gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11

This is the Day the Lord Hath Made!

"The greatest accomplishment of all time was what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary. Christ's death paid the penalty for our sins..."

New Collages

Here are two new collages I did over the weekend. The images are all from 3 Southern Living Magazines background included. Ann

I liked this picture of the beach. I'm not much of a beach person but it made me feel warm and cozy. Then I thought what if it rained at the beach? Maybe it would rain flowers! The little girl running made me think of my own daughters. Sara loves the beach!

This collage is titled Pretty Angels. I liked the idea of cutting out the windows and putting my own background. Then I found the pictures of the little girl and the dogs and felt they all need a place to stay. Can you find the little faries?

My latest collage!

Here is my latest piece of art. I was working on this before I became sick and didn't have a chance to post it. The verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Love is patient, Love is kind. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perserveres.

The picture below is a larger picture of the one in the frame on the collage. This is Paul & me around 1988 in Harper's Ferry, WV.

The Holy Wedlock image was the inspiration for this piece. I found the image on a very neat site, Bailey's Bliss. Her link is on the sidebar to the left. She has other images for sharing. You'll enjoy visiting her site. The forget me not flowers in the background are also from her site. Thanks for sharing these neat images Stacie!
